At Carolina Cognitive and Behavioral Health, we provide individualized, evidence-based psychiatric care across the lifespan. Our mission is to help patients and their families understand their mental health and cognitive functioning, clarify diagnoses, and create treatment plans that support their goals and overall well-being.
Meet Your Provider
J. Havah E. Michaels, DNP, PMHNP-BC is a doctorally prepared, board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) specializing in psychiatry of the lifespan, ADHD assessments, and cognitive evaluations to determine mild cognitive impairment and/or dementia. Trained at Duke University, Havah brings experience, thoughtful, and patient-centered care. With a focus on clarity and collaboration, Havah works closely with patients to understand their unique history, evaluate symptoms, and develop individualized treatment plans — whether for mood disorders, ADHD, or cognitive concerns such as memory changes.

Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluations – Thorough assessment of mood, anxiety, and behavioral symptoms

ADHD Evaluation Packages – Including clinical assessment and neuropsychiatric testing.

Dementia & Cognitive Evaluations – Including clinical assessment, neuropsychiatric testing, neuro exams, cognitive screening, labs, and imaging (as indicated). We recommend family in attendance to provide collateral information.

Medication Management & Treatment Planning – Collaborative approach to pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions

Note: Neuropsychiatric testing included in evaluations is for clinical assessment purposes and is not full neuropsychological testing. Referrals to licensed neuropsychologists are available if more extensive evaluation is determined.
